Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal

To live in hearts we leave behind
Is not to die.
~Thomas Campbell,

There are no words for loss, especially the loss of one's friend, confidente,
mother, teacher, pal, partner, sympathizer, benefactor, ally AND sister~ My sister lost her battle with pancreatic cancer, August 29, 2009. I said good bye to her on Monday of that same week, held her close, cheek to cheek and heart to heart~~ We knew she was failing. NO, not failing, she was moving on to her next journey, one she was prepared for and willing to travel. I will MISS her more than words could ever express but I KNOW in my deepest cavities, where all our secrets are held safe & protected, that she is with HIM. I told her long ago, if you get to Heaven before me save me a seat in the front row~~I am sure she and God are having a discussion about this right now;)

A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life. ~Isadora James

I love you dear sister, always and forever, until we meet again...

Oh Marylou:
My heart cry's for you!!! I know how much you love your sister and I remember when you would go visit her and post pictures on the blog.
Honi, she is on her next journey or I should say she already arrived.
Take care.

i know what it is like to loose someone close and to share their pain and their struggles.
I have found that it takes time and in Gods time ,you will find that strength and make a new type of normal.
Her heart will always be with you and watching over you.

We've never chatted before, but I'm sorry to read about the loss of your sister. It's hard losing people you love.

I've had a few deaths of my own (too many in a short time period) over the past few years - not easy stuff.

And as M mentioned...we just have to work our way to creating a "new normal."

All the best to you.

This is so bizarre. I was looking for ANOTHER blog and happened upon yours. I could not believe your sister died of pancreatic cancer. MY sister passed away about 14 years ago with pancreatic cancer! I rarely see anything about women who have had this disease. I went to California to take care of my sister for a few weeks, about a month before she died. As I got ready to leave, she said "I am so afraid I won't see you again!" I said "Honey, whether it is in heaven or on earth, you will see me again - either way, you'll be okay." Thanks for sharing your loss on your blog.

Enjoyed browsing through your blog. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost two sisters within a year of each other. My second sister passed almost 5 yrs ago- just a few hours before my second granddaughter was born.

I know your sister is watching you from heaven and can still hear you anytime you need to talk. :)

God Bless,
